Meet the Team
I’m Heidi Hummel, an educator with 11 years of experience serving the TriBeCa and larger NYC community. As an educator, my most important responsibility is to empower students by helping them recognize their potential. All students and families should have access to the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to thrive, and I’m passionate about providing these resources. I’m deeply committed to equitable public education and I create educational programming that complements and supports students in their schoolwork, with a focus on identifying and closing skill gaps.
Collaboration is central to my approach, and I enjoy creating personalized plans for each student and family. I aim to provide engaging, meaningful experiences that help build skills transferable to both school and home.
I have a growing passion for the arts. Check out our Field Trips where students socialize, explore new interests, and build real-world skills in a supportive, engaging environment.
I’m Ashley Cattaneo, an experienced Early Childhood educator and developmental specialist in the New York Metropolitan area. With a decade of experience working with young children and families, I have a deep understanding of child development, learning, and engagement.
I have worked as an Early Intervention provider, infant and toddler teacher, elementary classroom teacher and have led workshops for parents, caregivers, and educators on child development and family partnerships.
My approach is rooted in play, music, and movement, helping children learn and grow through meaningful interactions. Whether you're looking for babysitting, tutoring, or developmental consulting, I would love to connect and explore how I can support your child and family.
I am Dr. Mary Leer, an Adjunct Advisor to graduate students in the Leadership in Mathematics Education program at Bank Street Graduate School of Education. I have over 40 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school students in a variety of demographic settings. Throughout my career, I've coached teachers to deepen their understanding of content and develop their pedagogy, while also collaborating with educators to build inclusive learning communities.
I am a strong advocate for interdisciplinary learning. While my primary focus is on mathematics education, I am also an avid art history enthusiast, having earned a minor in art history from the University of Pittsburgh. I serve on the Associates Leadership Committee at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and I frequently visit art museum exhibits, contemporary galleries, and take part in the learning opportunities that New York City's arts community offers.
Hi! I’m Kathryn Bickel. I have been teaching mathematics since 2010 and hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Math Education. I’m passionate about teaching all areas of math, from pure to applied, and have spent my career working with middle and high school students.
While my content is mathematics, the underlying principle of my teaching is literacy and problem solving. I do this by consistently using non routine questions in my practice. A non-routine problem is any complex problem that requires some degree of creativity or originality to solve. These problems can be solved in multiple ways and give students the opportunity to review or learn new math topics, as well as practice essential literacy and critical thinking skills which translate to different subjects in school and in life. I always tell my students “Life is a non-routine problem!” Using these techniques, I have seen students grow in their problem solving skills and critical thinking skills.
Hi, I’m Paige. With over 10 years of experience supporting families and managing household operations, I offer part-time household management and family assistance tailored to your needs. I’m also a certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and Newborn Care Specialist, helping families establish calm, well-structured routines.
I provide morning support and school drop-offs, handle errands and personal shopping, assist with light housekeeping and meal prep, and help with home organization and family scheduling. Whether it’s resetting the house after a busy morning or keeping systems in place so everything runs smoothly, I focus on making daily life easier.
I am highly organized, proactive, and reliable. I thrive on creating order, anticipating needs, and helping busy households feel calm, efficient, and well cared for.
